Green Acres

A quiet enclave, filled with charming homes, just south of Ferndale.

The Lowdown

This little neighborhood might seem modest compared to the palatial homes in Sherwood Forest to the south, but Green Acres offers a huge variety of well-kept homes, in lots of styles, sizes, and price points. Green Acres is bound by 8 Mile to the north, Litchfield to the east, Pembroke to the south, and Livernois to the west. Although you’re about 10 miles from downtown, you’ll be right near the commercial strips of neighboring Ferndale, The Avenue of Fashion on Livernois, and the new Gateway Marketplace with a Meijer, Starbucks, and more.

The Nitty Gritty

Green Acres homes come in all shapes and sizes, some filled with historic features, some a little more contemporary. Move-in ready homes on the market as of late 2017 ranged from about $69,000 to $220,000. Check with local realtors like City Living Detroit for rare home rental opportunities.
